NEW (ISAC) APPROVED EUROPEAN EQUIPMENT INSPECTION QUALIFICATION

Certificate presentation

Following the successful International Standards & Accreditation Council-ISAC approval of the on-going LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations) project undertaken by the ABA partners, further progress has been made.

Out of a number of candidates examined on knowledge and practical ability to inspect rope access equipment for lifting operations four were successful during recent examinations. These pioneering arborists and mountain rescue personnel from Ireland & Czech Republic commented 'the qualification is on the right track, it will ensure climbers comply with European legislation and raise their knowledge of inspection requirements for lifting equipment which leads to safer standards used at work'.

Certificate presentation

ABA-ISAC approved assessors (2 per candidate) validated the tests which covered in-depth equipment examination methods, interpretation of inspection records and much more. Further development planned for early 2014 includes more equipment inspection tests and evaluation of the level 2 standards for independent examination to International standards.
